WEEK IN REVIEW – FORT WAYNE

Fort Wayne, Indiana- The United States Attorney’s Office announced the following activity:

PLEAS:

Ø Jennifer McClurg, 43, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to the felony offense of maintaining a place for the purpose of manufacturing marijuana plants and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Allen County Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King.

Ø Victor Rosiles, 25, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to the felony offense of being an unlawful alien in possession of a firearm. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, including the Indiana State Police, the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Police Department. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Geller.

Ø Ricky Winston, 52, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Roger Cosbey to the felony offense of being a felon in possession of a firearm. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.

If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.

DISPOSITIONS:

Ø Charley Gonzalez, IV, 23, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 1 year of probation after pleading guilty to the felony offense of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user of controlled substances. This case was the result of an investigation by Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lovita Morris King.

Ø Miguel Zavala, 39, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by Judge Theresa Springmann to 10 months imprisonment – time served, and 2 years of supervised release after pleading guilty to the felony offense of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana. This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley Miller Lowery.
